In Vitro - 2010

In 2010, Prune Nourry began the In Vitro series, for which she assembled pyrex laboratory glassware into compositions with revealing titles such as In Vitro Mater, 2010 and In Vitro Madone (The Immaculate Conception), 2012. In a kind of cutaway In Vitro Fertilization of 2010 shows the organs of a torso replaced by flasks and other laboratory items. These veritable anatomical ex-votos materialise the hopes of conception that are now entrusted to medical specialists, the new gods of fertility.
